Matthew's Pinewood Derby was this last weekend. His car did pretty well as he took home a First Place trophy (meaning he finished in the top third of all the scouts racing). We actually built 3 derby cars this year...the pickup that he actually raced (see the finish line picture), another car that looked like a Nintendo Wii controller that actually turned out pretty good and a wedge that we painted to look like an American flag. Had the Wii remote raced a little faster, we would have entered that one instead, but the Pinewood derby is all about speed.
