First Day of School

WOW - kind've funny...my last post was about the end of school, and now I am finally writing another post and guess what...it's the first day of school for a brand new year!
This summer had many ups and downs. Had a great family reunion with my family...the Steiner's...our family has grown so much that it truly is a blessing when we can all get together! We enjoyed every minute! Then I had my 20 year reunion this year! WOW...20 years. It was so fun catching up with all those old friends. Of course that time way by WAY to fast! But we are looking foward to a 25 in Vegas!

Then we come to the downs....flood waters hit the Miller family pretty hard. Both Brian's sister and brother lost their homes in the Minot Flood. Brian's brother Steve and his wife Brittany have not decided yet as to their plans on their home. They are renting an apartment and waiting it out for a bit. Brian's sister Mel and her husband Perry have hit it hard with the recovery stage. Their house is down to the 2x4's and there will be a Miller party on Labor Day weekend to get the new siding and windows up! We are all hoping that we can get them back into their house this winter so they can go about their lives with their children. Been a very tough road...but with love, support and lots of prayers from our God above, everyone will get through this, after all...we still have family, and thats truly what is important.

So today I am welcoming the first day of school...that means for us at least, that we can get back into some normalcy within our lives again! Of course we take off running with schedules...Matt started football, Katie will start b-ball, choir and dance and Lauren will start volleyball. Tate is in his final year of college and is living in an apartment this year. We are very busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am very fortunate to have my family!
Wishing each of you a blessed 2011-2012 school year!! I am sure more "updates" will come as we venture on with our new school year!

Busy-Fun Weekend

End of school means lot's of activities coming to an end. The girls performed their last 2010-2011 dance performance at their spring show on Saturday. They have really improven this year. They will be taking part of a dance camp this summer. They truly love it!

Katie's group also closed with the older dance group with "Heal the World"...was a great way to end a great show!

Katie also had a Central Dakota Childrens Choir concert last night! Her group...Jubilate were guests of Bismarck Civic Chorus...was a great concert.

And then the end a great weekend...we are celebrating Mother's Day. The best part of Mother's Day is the AWESOME gifts the kids make! I am very fortunate to have such great kids, awesome husband and a great family that I am grateful for each day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!!
